Tips on selling things in PoupeeGirl

Selling items at the Poupee Market doesnt have to be so hard.

Selling items at the Poupee Market doesn't have to be so hard.

The phrase “so hard to sell on poupee girl” turned up in my blog’s Top Search terms recently, so I thought I’d write down some tips on selling stuff on PoupeeGirl based on my personal experience. There are three things I keep in mind when I’m selling items on PoupeeGirl, and hopefully they can also help anyone out there who’s having a hard time selling items.

1. Check the Poupee Market for price references.
Once I decide to sell an item, I head to the Poupee Market to check the prices that the other players are selling the same item for. This proves to be kind of tedious given that the Market has no Search function, but I think it’s necessary. The game doesn’t provide default prices for the items, so other players’ sale prices are all we have for reference. What I do is I look for the lowest price that the item is being sold for on the Market and use that as the basis for my own price.

2. Go for a reasonably low price.
After finding the lowest price that the item is being sold for in the Market, I either sell it for that same price or even lower. I recently sold a pair of Wide half pants/bl09G for 16 Ribbons when other players priced theirs at 33 Ribbons or more. Even though my Wide half pants were priced significantly lower, it still sold relatively fast while the other players’ are still up for sale now. Personally, I think it’s much better to go for a sure-fire sale rather than have to wait for a looong time for anybody to buy my item or to not have anyone buy it at all.

3. If it’s too cheap, Recycle it instead.
Some items up for sale on the Market are priced below 5 Ribbons each. When I want to get rid of an item that has that kind of value in the Market, I usually don’t bother selling it at all (unless I’m really desperate for Ribbons), and opt to Recycle it instead. Recycling an item earns you a Shell, and collecting five Shells gives you a chance to get a random item at the Shell Spring. If you don’t like the item you got from the Shell Spring, then you can sell it or just Recycle it again.

I’m not that much of an expert in selling stuff on PoupeeGirl, but what I’ve been doing has been earning me a fair number of Ribbons thus far, so I think that I must be doing something right. Selling items isn’t enough to earn you a lot of Ribbons though; for optimum Ribbon-earning without having to spend real money to buy them, just remember to post at least one item per day, dress-up your Poupee once per day, and post comments on other players’ items.
